Welcome to TAIWANfest’s first-ever artist market!
Through the arts, we meet new friends and learn more about ourselves and each other. We’ve invited local artists to share their creativity with our community. By supporting small businesses and local artists, TAIWANfest is building new relationships and discovering new connections right here in Vancouver.
We’ve also invited some community artists. Our friends from the 2017 Dialogue with Japan are bringing handmade crafts and tea all the way from Japan! With special live demos, Yui Aida will present a cultural fusion of sweets. Have you ever wondered what clouds from different countries would taste like? She will reflect the diverse scenery of Taiwan, Canada, Spain, and Japan through the traditional sweets nerikiri (練り切り).
Make sure to stop by the market and make friends or say hi to familiar faces!

Vancouver TAIWANfest is grateful to be held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We acknowledge our privilege to be gathered here, and commit to work with and be respectful to the Indigenous peoples of this land while we engage in meaningful conversations of culture and reconciliation.
