Activities List

Colour the Dragon

What does the dragon of your imagination look like?
What colour are its scales?

The scales of the dragon are like the colours of our skin, or our names, or our taste in food. Each one reflects something unique, like each of us standing together. Inspired by the Year of the Dragon, let’s put together our creativity to make the most colourful dragon!

Taiwan Playground

Taiwanese craftsman Zhang Puyun designs toys that are simple yet offer endless creative possibilities. These toys are made from Taiwan’s local wood processing factories, a perfect combination of contemporary pursuits and traditional children’s toys.

One set of toys, ten ways to play.

We challenge you to figure out all ten ways!

Puzzling History

De De is the newest member of our TAIWANfest team. Curiosity in her bones, she transforms into an archaeology cat, guiding us in digging for the truth and piecing together history.

All of human society’s most important projects are the result of a collective effort. Everything today is based on the past, and everything tomorrow is built from today.

Come and contribute to this group puzzle and dig up the truth with us!

Racing Rainbow

We all know the difficulty and the thrill of Rainbow Road… A test of speed, dexterity, and perseverance.

TAIWANfest challenges you to an afternoon showdown! Take on friends and family, or strangers or even a volunteer, let’s race to see who can sort the rainbow the fastest!

Performance / Vendor / Sponsorship Opportunities

Vancouver TAIWANfest is grateful to be held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam Indian Band), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish Nation), and Səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh Nation). We acknowledge our privilege to be gathered here, and commit to work with and be respectful to the Indigenous peoples of this land while we engage in meaningful conversations of culture and reconciliation.
